Healing Hearts and Minds Through Trauma Intensives in San Diego, CA

Are you feeling stuck in traditional talk therapy, going through the endless cycle of session after session without any real progress on what is happening to you? Maybe you’ve been dedicating time and energy to those weekly 50-minute sessions, but instead of gaining insight into what's bothering you, it feels more like you're just skimming the surface of a deeper hurt that is truly bothering you.

Why does this happen?

This is because traumatic experiences are often too complex for traditional therapies, especially when you’re dealing with years of pain, intrusive thoughts, and constant hypervigilance. The solution? Intensive trauma therapy at A New View of You. Our trauma intensives offer San Diego, California, residents a focused, accelerated path to healing. Designed for individuals who want to dive deep into their trauma work without the drawn-out timeline of traditional therapy, this model is ideal for those ready to commit to healing and put in the work for fast results. Delivered entirely via telehealth, clients can engage in transformative trauma work from the comfort of their own space.

The Value of Intensive Trauma Therapy

It can be exhausting and scary when you have to keep revisiting the past but only barely skim the surface. This is a common experience in trauma therapy. But why drag it out when the goal of therapy is to release bad memories back to the past where they belong, not bring them to the present where they continue to haunt you and hang around?

Intensive therapy dives deep into the core of your trauma, but safely, teaching you how to stay grounded so as not to leave you feeling triggered and unresolved. Intensives:

  • Are designed to get to the root of what happened to you
  • Don’t only focus on "what's going wrong today"
  • Explore not only the traumatic events themselves, but also how they’ve shaped your beliefs about yourself and the world around you

Imagine being able to step away from feeling triggered and instead feeling more compassionate and aware of yourself. Through our concentrated efforts, we'll address the patterns and emotions that have kept you feeling stuck, helping you find lasting change.

Addressing Your Worries Before We Begin

This might sound scary—I get that. Rest assured that your comfort is the first thing we'll address before getting to anything big. It’s my priority to teach you effective trauma-grounding skills and how to recognize your responses to triggers so you will be able to work on practical solutions to mitigate those feelings and thoughts. You'll be surprised at how effective grounding yourself can be! This is just one of the many lifelong tools you'll learn here at A New View of You. Together, we'll process your traumatic memories using one of the most effective intensive empowerment models around to send those old memories packing and back to the past where they belong.

Achieve Immediate Relief From Stress, Hypervigilance, and Fear

Imagine being able to reach a place of genuine relief from your trauma symptoms sooner rather than years down the line. Intensive trauma therapy provides a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space to do this, with focused attention on actually processing trauma so you can truly let go of the pain rather than just managing it week to week like "kicking the trauma can down the road". Trauma intensives are a powerful, immersive approach that enables you to find a sense of closure and resolution that might otherwise take months or even years to achieve.

As you do this work, you’ll find yourself reconnecting with who you are, setting healthy boundaries, and finally feeling empowered to live confidently and authentically. You’ll start to feel more present and engaged in life, with a healthy ability to connect to others. You'll experience more joy and calm, and, best of all, a renewed relationship around trust in yourself. Intensive therapy offers a pathway to freedom from the weight of trauma, helping you rebuild your life with resilience, purpose, and inner peace.

How Does Intensive Therapy Work at A New View of You?

Our trauma intensives are rooted in the Instinctual Trauma Response® (ITR) method, a neuroscience-informed, structured model that helps clients safely process and resolve traumatic experiences. ITR® combines elements of the following:

  • Art therapy
  • Somatic grounding
  • Narrative processing
  • Parts psychology

To reorganize traumatic memories without retraumatization. In intensive sessions, clients complete targeted exercises like the Trauma Map, Externalized Dialogue, and The Story of Trauma—core tools of ITR® that empower individuals to break free from cycles of anxiety, dissociation, and emotional overwhelm. This work is highly effective, allowing clients to process trauma and walk away with tools to maintain their healing independently.

What to Expect During Trauma Intensive Therapy Sessions

Rather than weekly 50-minute sessions, trauma intensives are longer and more frequent, with a predetermined end date in mind. Thus, your treatment is done more quickly and over a shorter period of time. You will not be flooded or overwhelmed with memories or be forced to relive the experience—everything is your call, and you set your schedule. For example, you might book two 2-hour sessions in one week, or maybe you only want one session a week. Often, clients at A New View of You start out slowly with single weekly sessions, then as they move along and become more familiar and comfortable with the process, they increase their time. We’ll work at your pace!
